Welcome to the careers page of Kingsmead School where inclusion is at the forefront of everything we do, including our approach to careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG). High aspirations for all students is integral to our ambition of finding meaningful destinations for all individuals when they leave our schools. It is on this page where you will find information about how we plan to do this.
Our Mission:
Our CEAIG mission is to deliver a structured programme of opportunities and to work individually with every student to enable them to access the best available opportunities and to make informed decisions about their future to increase their probability of success in life, learning and work.
We will work collaboratively with local employers and other educational providers (including Derby College, apprenticeship providers, and alternative providers) so that all students will be provided with the best possible information and will be supported with their progression and transition after completing their journey with Kingsmead School.
Our aims are:
- To enable every student to understand and access the career planning process and to identify their skills and aspirations for the future.
- To work with other providers, local industry and employers in order to ensure that we can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information to our students.
- To provide information relating to opportunities for progression and for future employment.
- To create opportunities for students to develop the relevant skills to search, apply and interview successfully for progression and employment.
- To facilitate situations where students can develop knowledge and skills relevant for employment.
- To organise events, visits and experiences for students to have contact with and gain information from employers and external providers.
- To support the successful transition of students to other providers.
- To offer impartial information, advice and guidance.
