About this club: Never be bored at board games club! Come along to board games club where you will have lots of fun! Learn new skills and make new friends. Drinks and snacks are also on offer. A variety of enjoyable games including Monopoly, Game of Life, I should of Known That, Jigsaw puzzles and many more. So if you like games and having fun then this is the club for you!

The Den Lunchtime Club

Name: The Den lunchtime club 

Who for: KS4 students who require a calm, inclusive and structured lunchtime experience

When: Lunchtime daily
 
About this club: Unstructured lunchtimes can be daunting for some of our students, The Den offers a staffed, consistent space for students to be themselves in a calm and welcoming environment. Staff model and encourage communication skills, daily reflection and developing social skills to enable students to feel part of the Kingsmead team. 

Baking Club 

Name: Baking Club 

Who for: All Year Groups

When: Monday 2:30-3:15
About this club: Baking Club is a fun environment where students get to bake different treats of their choice. They are encouraged to read recipes independently, support each other in making their bakes and then take home what they have made. Students have made all sorts of different things from cakes, brownies and even a home-made Chinese takeaway. It is a great opportunity for our students to engage in something they are passionate about whilst improving their communication and social skills! We even have older students who volunteer their time to help support the running of the club. 

KS4 Football

Name: KS4 Football

Who for: Years 9/10/11

Staff involved: Paul, Omar, Moussa, Jahvan

When: Tuesday. 14:30-15:15

About: Football club aimed at developing the football skills of our KS4 pupils, they played their first match against Landau Forte during 22-23 and they have games lined up against schools across the county this academic year. Not only working on their football skills our pupils are guided in lifestyle choices and soft skills such as communication and teamwork.

KS3 Football

Name: KS3 Football

Who for: Years 7/8/9

Staff involved: Paul, Lopes, Omar

When: Tuesday. 14:30-15:15

About: Football club aimed at developing the football skills of our KS3 pupils, they also compete in the Derby County Community Trust SEND Cup and form part of the Derbyshire FA Football festivals. Not only working on their football skills our pupils are guided in lifestyle choices and soft skills such as communication and teamwork.

Art Club

About: For pupils to explore and create works of art using their preferred materials and try using ones. To also learn about different artists for inspiration.

 

 

Kingsmead Basketball

About: Football club aimed at developing the basketball skills whilst improving their lifestyle choices and soft skills such as communication and teamwork. The group are currently working towards creating their own rules where they will invite other schools to come and compete against them.
