Who better to talk about our school than the pupils, parents/carers and stakeholders we work with:

Please could you thank all the staff involved with my son at Kingsmead as you’ve done such a wonderful job, honestly wish he’d of had you all from the start as it’s just been one big struggle with him at school!

This past year I’ve seen him want to go to school and he loves everyone there – to me that’s such a massive thing as it’s helped mine and his relationship too. I’ve been able to work and not feel stressed and it’s all down to the time and effort you put into the children and it should be recognised!

He actually said he’s going to miss it, but a massive thank you to you all – such wonderful people and for helping him so much.

Many thanks!

Kingsmead have given my son a fresh start and a clean slate on a day to day basis, staff do not refer to past behaviours and this has made him feel like he belongs so his behaviour has improved.
The staff are very understanding and he feels he is being treated fairly and this makes him want to do well.
He is making progress and he will tell me what he has been doing at school.
I am really happy with the school, the diligence of the staff and the comprehensive review of his plan.
He is starting to come out of his shell and will now go outside with classmates, he is a happier boy.

‘My son is doing well and attending school full time, and the fact that he likes coming to school is really positive. He is functioning much better in his smaller classes and the support he gets is excellent. He is making progress in his academic subjects and loves his outdoor activities and his music at Baby P. He has got a good relationship with his Keyworkers and communication with school is good.’

‘Dad is really pleased with the progress that his son has made. He remarked that he is more confident with using technology at home. He can search apps for programmes.

Dad felt that the teachers at the school ‘have amazing patience’ and that his son feels safe and protected. His son now has a ‘willingness’ to learn so he is pushing himself to make progress’

As a second-year university student completing a placement at Kingsmead School, I had the privilege of seeing first-hand the transformative impact this school has on secondary-aged children. This isn’t just a school—it’s a community where staff go above and beyond to create a positive, supportive environment tailored to each child’s unique needs.

One of the standout qualities of Kingsmead is the dedication and expertise of the staff. They employ thoughtful, well-researched teaching strategies that adapt to the specific needs of every student. The focus is not only on academic success but also on building confidence, resilience, and life skills. It was truly inspiring to witness how staff members foster trust and strong relationships with students, creating an atmosphere where they feel safe, understood, and motivated to thrive.

The school’s ability to meet challenges with compassion and innovation was incredible to observe. From individualised learning plans to engaging group activities, everything is designed to empower students and help them rediscover their potential. The sense of community within the school is heartwarming; students are not just educated but genuinely cared for and it really shows.

My time here was not only an invaluable learning experience for me but also a testament to the school’s excellence in supporting and nurturing children. For any parent considering this school, I can confidently say it offers an exceptional environment where your child can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The focus on positive relationships and high-quality teaching ensures that every student is given the tools to succeed in their own way.

Overall, Kingsmead left me with an overwhelming sense of admiration and respect. It is truly a wonderful school where students are given the opportunity to flourish, supported by a team of remarkable staff who are passionate about what they do. I would highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a nurturing and effective environment for their child.
